Swampfox Sentinel II: The New Micro Red Dot

Optics & Red Dots

Note: This article first appeared in Gun Hub News

The Swampfox Sentinel II is a new micro red dot optic, not yet released, with the most common footprint designed for use on compact handguns. The RMSc footprint allows the optic to be used on many handguns, creating a more versatile product intended for everyday carry (EDC) use. The second-gen optic comes standard with a new, removable rear sight guide. Its superior construction boasts a reinforced hood and 7075-T6 aluminum body.

This red dot features a 3 MOA and its brightness settings come with 10 manually adjusted options.  The Sentinel II Micro Dot Sight is larger than the first gen’s 16 mm window, coming in at 20mm.  The lens is also recessed for additional durability and multi-coated for scratch resistance. Like all great optics, it has shake-awake technology so it’s always ready when you are.

The only drawback to this optic is the bottom loading battering design.  While many optics are built this way, it means that any time the battery must be replaced, the sight needs to be removed, replaced, and re-zero’d.  On the upside, the CR2032 battery life is quite long, at 50,000 hours, according to the manufacturer.

This optic, while meant for micro-handguns, is somewhat larger than other micro-optics like Holosuns, for example.  This can be a plus for some users who like the larger buttons.  The Swampfox Sentinel II will retail for between $250 – $300 and will be available soon.  We’ve been waiting for this product’s release since Shot Show and can’t wait to get our hands on it!
